uhlsport new KIT supplier of Waasland Beveren
uhlsport will be new official KIT supplier of Waasland Beveren
Waasland-Beveren has a new kit supplier.
uhlsport will dress the Belgian first division club for the upcoming four seasons. For uhlsport this is a come-back to the highest level in Belgian football. In the ‘80s (KV Kortrijk) and the ‘90 (Cercle Brugge) Uhlsport has been active in the Belgian highest division as a teamwear sponsor. Managing Director Dominik Solleder came over to the Freethiel stadium to sign the contract on February 20th 2018.
Bram Lefebure (Waasland-Beveren):
Waasland-Beveren is a club which is going in the right direction step by step. It was very important for us to find a partner who is on the same track. We were looking for a partner with a positive image and also for one sharing our values and priorities. The first exchanges with uhlsport made it clear that there was a lot of know-how in the company, and moreover the brand shares our passion. I feel clearly that both sides are very satisfied with the cooperation. As the negotiations moved on, we found more and more common ground on the side approaches as well. Fan identification and fan experience are crucial factors for us. Together with Uhlsport we will set our next steps.”
David Van Dorpe (Uhlsport):
We are very satisfied with this deal. uhlsport is growing in Belgium. In order to support this growth on the teamwear side, we were looking for a reference club in Belgium and now we found it. uhlsport has a very good reputation in Belgium as a supplier of excellent goalkeeper gloves, but the company offers many more possibilities. That is what we want to emphasize through this cooperation. Waasland-Beveren is a good match for us on the image side. A club with a rich tradition, where people work hard, a club with a bright future as well. We got to know the staff of Waasland Beveren as highly motivated, reliable professionals. Both sides had a similar expectation pattern concerning this deal, so we found each other very easily.”
About Waasland-Beveren: Waasland-Beveren was established in 2010 through the merger of former Belgian champions KSK Beveren and KV Red Star Waasland. The club plays in the nicely renovated Freethiel Stadium. In the second season after the merger, the yellow-blues managed to return to the highest division of Belgian football. In their first season in the Jupiler Pro League, the club managed to avoid relegation, and aims higher since. The objective was to become a stable player in the middle of the score table, but in the current season Waasland-Beveren exceeds all expectations and fights for a place in the play-offs (Top 6 in the Belgian League).
